What is Klondike Solitaire?

How to play Klondike Solitaire

Objective

The goal of the game is to move all the cards to the 4 foundation piles, following suit and in ascending order, starting with an Ace and progressing towards the King.

Setup

The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, organized into 4 different types of piles:

The Tableau consists of seven piles and 28 cards, with the first pile containing one card, the second pile containing two cards, and so on. The top card of each pile is face-up and the remaining cards are face-down.
The Foundation piles consist of 4 piles, one for each suit (Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs), where cards can be arranged by suit and in ascending order, from Ace to King.
The Stock pile contains the remaining 24 cards face-down, out of which 1 can be moved at a time to the waste. Cards can not be played while they are in this pile.
The Waste pile contains the cards that the player takes from the stock pile, face-up. Only the top card can be played, either to the tableau or foundation piles.

Rules

Play Only Face-Up Cards: You can move face-up cards only. Cards that are face-down in the tableau cannot be played until all face-up cards above them are moved. When you use a card from the waste pile, the next card in the pile becomes visible, offering new opportunities for play.
Follow Alternating Colors and Rank in the Tableau: Move cards between tableau columns by stacking them on cards of alternating color and one rank higher. For example, place a 6 of Spades on a 7 of Hearts or Diamonds.
Shift Groups of Cards: You can move a sequence of cards as long as the top card of the sequence fits onto a card of alternating color and one rank higher in the destination column.
Reveal Hidden Cards: Whenever you clear a face-down card by moving the face-up cards above it, the hidden card is flipped face-up, becoming available for play.
Build Foundation Piles by Suit: Start each foundation pile with an Ace. Continue adding cards of the same suit in ascending order (e.g., 2, 3, 4, etc.).
Fill Empty Columns with Kings: Only Kings or a sequence of cards beginning with a King can occupy an empty tableau column.
Use the Stock Pile Strategically: When no other moves are available, flip the top card from the stock pile. Continue drawing cards until you find one you can play on the tableau or foundation piles.
Redeal the Stock Pile: Once all cards from the stock pile have been moved to the waste pile, you can reshuffle the waste pile back into the stock pile and start again.
